What Is CMMC-AB 2.0
- The Cyber-AB is a nonprofit organization designed to provide assurance to the US Department of Defense (DOD) of the cybersecurity posture of the Defense Supply Chain.
- The organization is authorized by the DOD to be the sole authoritative source for the operationalization of CMMC Assessments and Training.
- The program incorporates a set of cybersecurity requirements into acquisition programs and provides the DOD increased assurance that contractors and subcontractors are meeting these requirements.
How Does CMMC-AB 2.0 Work
- Through a tiered model, companies entrusted with National Security Information implement cybersecurity standards at progressively advanced levels, depending on the type and sensitivity of the information.
- Assessments allow the DOD to verify the implementation of clear cybersecurity standards.
- Target Implementation Date is May 23, 2023
- Once fully implemented, contractors handling unclassified information will be required to achieve a particular CMMC level as a condition of contract award.
